For the 11 years, 3 months and 9 days we have lived in this house, we’ve had a problem that is GOING AWAY TOMORROW!!!We have been unable to open any of our windows. They are old and have been painted a hundred thousand times (plus two more times since I’ve owned them) and I’ve actually cracked two of them trying to pry them open.
Now, at first glance, that might not seem such a big deal. Yes, we have central heat and air, so what’s the problem?
Apart from the freakin’ utility bills, you mean?
Here’s my problem: because I cannot open any windows, in the spring and the fall I find myself switching back and forth between heat and A/C like a paranoid schizophrenic! This is not funny. Not funny at all.
But today, we are taking down all the window coverings and moving all our possessions at least 3 feet away from the windows because…
TOMORROW WE’RE GETTING ALL NEW WINDOWS!!!!
Oh yeah, baby – Mother Nature’s gonna start to do her part around here and help with the heating/cooling of this house. For the first time ever, we’re going to be enjoying the cool breezes of spring. In celebration, no matter what the weather, tomorrow we’re going to have all the windows wide open – even if we have to wear layers and huddle under blankets.
I’ve got goosebumps of joy at the mere thought of it.
Keepin' it real in the bloggerhood,
