When my good friend Lisa sent me this recipe, I thought it was perfect for people like me, who are not sure how to tell when poultry is thoroughly cooked, but not too dry. Give this a try.
Ingredients:
8 – 15 lb. turkey
1 c melted butter
1 c stuffing (Pepperidge Farm is Good.)
1 c uncooked popcorn (ORVILLE REDDENBACHER’S LOW FAT)
Salt/pepper to taste
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brush turkey well with melted butter, salt, and pepper. Fill cavity with stuffing and uncooked popcorn.
2. Place in roasting pan and position roasting pan in the oven with the neck end facing the back of the oven.
3. Listen for the popping sounds. When the turkey’s ass blows the oven door open and the bird flies across the room, it’s done.

I think I will stick with letting my brother in law handle the bird!

I was really getting into the simplicity of this recipe…until I got to step 3…then I choked on my soda. Hubby had to pat me on the back I was laughing and choking at the same time.

I just love bacon wrapped turkey. If you haven’t tried it you’ve got to. Only problem is that I eat most of the bacon off the turkey before it actually gets to the table!
