I am very blessed to have my very own Ya Ya Sisters. And yes, we even call ourselves that, inspired by the movie. Though we haven’t known each other since childhood like the women in the movie, sometimes it seems like we have.
We range in age from mid-20’s to mid-40’s and live in three different timezones, so getting together is done by phone. Tonight is our monthly get together, and I can’t wait!
We are all very different, but we are so much the same. Two of us are (or will be soon) grandmas, two of us have adult children who’ve left home, two of us have teenagers living at home, two of us have ‘tweens, and two of us have elementary aged kids.
These women help me stay sane in the mad, mad world in which we live, and for them I am forever grateful.
I am sure that your Ya-Ya Sisters show will go just fine. Don’t forget to show us the photographs of your show.
Enjoy your time with your Ya Ya sisters.
I’ve got my own Ya Ya’s, and they were around before I joined them. It was a group that met on a message board I belong to. Two met in at my store and asked me and an employee to take pictures of their meeting. It ends up the employee and I were also members of the board.
Five years later, I am so happy for my “Ya Ya Sistahs”. They’ve cheered the good, supported in the sad and just made life better.
Here’s to Ya Yas!
Yeah for Ya-Yas! I need to accumulate some of my own.
